Rochester Hills, Michigan – Every now and then, a crime touches the pulse of Americans and gains the national spotlight. One such occurrence happened in Michigan last week when two men posing as utility workers gained entrance to an upscale home.
From there, the criminals murdered the homeowner and tied up his wife before fleeing. These brazen home invasions are becoming increasingly commonplace in 2024, as millions struggle to put food on the table.
However, what’s truly amazing is the mainstream media’s unwillingness to comment on how such attacks could be negated by owning and knowing how to properly use a gun.
THE SPECIFICS
As more details emerge from this incident, what’s obvious is the lengths criminals go to to accomplish their goals. Like it or not, the criminal mind is enterprising and always looks to gain the upper hand.
The two assailants, who will remain unnamed in this piece, attempted to gain entry to the victims’ upscale home last Thursday evening. They were guile, dawning fluorescent yellow vests and carrying a phony work order attached to a clipboard.
They were initially denied, but when they returned the following morning still dressed for the part, they were allowed entry. The victim, Hussein Murray, 72, signed the phony work order and escorted the two gutless defendants to the basement. He was promptly murdered, whereafter both men went upstairs and bound his wife.
The motive was robbery. The suspects came away with money and jewelry.
THE VIDEO IS SOBERING
What makes this crime so haunting is the fact it was caught on the victim’s Ring Camera. Authorities released doorbell camera footage of the suspects posing as utility workers and asking for entry to Murray’s house.
One of the suspects is even heard saying “We’re DTE; we’re here checking for gas leaks.”
Note: DTE is a Detroit-based diversified energy company.
Consequently, a lot of the time such crimes are simply written about. However, when video is involved, there seems to be an undeniable emotional response it elicits in any human that’s not sociopathic.

Any one of us could have been duped in the same fashion. It’s a harsh truth, but this world is filled with evil people who will stop at nothing to meet their desires. Furthermore, it’s not isolated to lower-income neighborhoods where crime is more regular.
I spent some of my most formidable years in Michigan. Rochester Hills is affluent. The homes are luxurious, and the schools well-rated. A crime like this is the last thing that comes to mind for anyone living there. Hence, why it is water cooler material.
THE LEFT WON’T SAY IT; GUNS MAKE US SAFER
A gruesome attack on an elderly couple who by all accounts were pillars in their community begs the question; what sort of outcome could have been expected had the victim been armed? This is a logical question to pose that CNN and MSNBC choose not to pose.
For decades, gun owners have parroted how guns make one safer, and how the absurd declarations for more gun control by the Left would be catastrophic.
Be objective, take divisive politics out of the mix, and the answer is clear. As long as human beings walk the Earth, the propensity for violent crime exists.
The best way to put down a bag guy with a gun? You guessed it; a good guy with a gun. Yet, still, the media shills on behalf of Draconian leaders who want nothing more than to disarm millions of law-abiding Americans.
