The IWI MASADA is a polymer-framed, striker-fired 9mm built around the features that define a modern duty pistol: modular controls, optics support, and a low bore axis.
This OD Green optics-ready version uses a 4.1-inch barrel, fixed 3-dot sights, and two 17-round magazines. More importantly, the design centers on modularity, ambidextrous controls, and a low bore axis.

A Duty Pistol Built Around Control
The MASADA uses a polymer frame that’s reinforced with fiberglass for added strength. IWI pairs the frame with a deep beavertail and three interchangeable wrap-around backstraps in small, medium, and large sizes.
Those backstraps give shooters room to adjust the grip to their hand rather than adapting to a fixed frame shape.
Controls also favor flexibility. The slide stop and magazine release work from either side of the pistol, giving left- and right-handed shooters the same basic setup.
A large trigger guard leaves extra room around the trigger, while aggressive grip texture helps keep the pistol secure in the hand.
Modular Internals
The MASADA’s modularity extends beyond the grip and external controls.
IWI houses the serialized steel trigger mechanism in a removable module inside the polymer frame. This layout separates the serialized fire-control unit from the outer shell and simplifies access during disassembly and maintenance.
The trigger uses a built-in trigger safety and carries a factory specification of roughly six pounds. IWI also describes the trigger as having a clean break and positive reset.
The system stays mechanically straightforward while giving the pistol a more modular internal layout than a traditional fixed-frame design.
Optics-Ready From the Start
The MASADA comes ready for several common pistol optics.
IWI supplies adapter plates for the Trijicon RMR, Vortex Venom, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and SIG Romeo1. The matching plates and screws let supported optics mount directly to the slide.

This approach gives owners multiple optic choices without forcing them into a single footprint.
The pistol also keeps fixed 3-dot sights in place for shooters who prefer irons or want a familiar sight picture before adding an optic.
A Picatinny accessory rail sits under the dust cover for lights or other compatible accessories.
Low Bore Axis, Familiar Layout
IWI designed the MASADA with a low barrel axis, which reduces perceived recoil by keeping the barrel closer to the shooter’s hand.
The MASADA still looks familiar beside other modern striker-fired pistols. Its distinguishing features sit in the controls, internal layout, and optics system rather than the basic silhouette.

The MASADA fits best as a full-size, duty-oriented 9mm for shooters who want familiar striker-fired controls with a more modular internal design.
Its ambidextrous controls, interchangeable backstraps, optics-ready slide, and removable trigger housing give the platform useful flexibility without changing the basic handling expected from a service pistol.
The OD Green configuration adds some visual character, but the real value sits in the underlying design.
IWI keeps the layout straightforward, leaves room for different optic choices, and builds the pistol around features that matter in regular use rather than novelty.
