President Trump’s Inauguration

In a watershed moment for the United States, Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President earlier this week. The business tycoon-turned-politician wasted no time and signed dozens of executive orders hours after his inauguration.

With thousands looking on at Washington’s Capitol One Arena, Trump followed through on some of his key campaign promises.

Taking center stage was his hardline stance on immigration. The new president declared a national emergency along the southern border with Mexico and directed the immediate construction of his controversial border wall. 

“With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of commonsense.”

His most epic moment was when he vowed to declare war on Mexican cartels while also designating them as foreign terrorist organizations – which they unequivocally are. The proverbial gloves are off as 47 makes it clear he’s playing for keeps this time.

President Trump to reinstate military members who were let go due to non-vaccination with back pay

Approximately 8,000 troops were forced out of the service for refusing to comply with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate from August 2021 to January 2023. Trump vows to reinstate them with back pay.

The President’s promise to reinstate these troops has been part of his broader messaging on supporting the military and standing against COVID-19 vaccine mandates, which he and many of his supporters have criticized as an overreach.

It’s worth noting that some of those troops sued at the time, calling the mandates illegal. 

Biden and guns

The right to keep and bear Arms is interwoven into the very fabric of America. It is a core tenet which sets it apart from other nations. 

Joe Biden was anti-gun. Throughout his tenure as President, he targeted individual gun owners rather than violent criminals.

His disdain for firearms emboldened the ATF –   the agency blatantly abused its powers with numerous raids on law-abiding gun owners.  Many of these raids were captured on video in real time by Americans. 

Consequently, Biden never missed the chance to paint violent crime as a gun problem. He conflated the issue in attempts to disarm Americans. To put it bluntly, Biden did his best to suppress Second Amendment rights. 

Ironically…

A funny thing happened; Americans wised up. A record number of women and African Americans purchased firearms during Biden’s presidency. Spikes in violent crime throughout American cities led to a mass awakening; citizens had enough despite the propaganda put forth by the Left.

Can President Trump really change things?

Whether Trump changes his government’s approach to the Second Amendment remains to be seen.

Nonetheless, how he’s come out days into his second term is reason for optimism. Should he make a concerted effort to undo much of the damage incurred by Biden and company,  it won’t be easy.

There are still a plethora of anti-gun employees throughout the vast federal bureaucracy. These individuals yearn for the disarmament of gun-owning Americans.

As a result, we are constantly inundated with a narrative that paints guns as an epidemic within our borders.

When a school shooting occurs, liberals immediately take aim at the Second Amendment and trumpet sweeping reforms to American gun laws. The issue is glossed over as one-dimensional when a bevy of variables is in play.

Mental health, the destruction of the nuclear family, and violent content by way of video games and Hollywood all contribute to the poisoning of our youth. Yet,  there is no mention of this when tragedies occur within U.S. schools.

President Trump means hope

Nonetheless, the nation appears to be trending in the right direction. The madness put forth by the Democrats and Joe Biden  — the influx of undocumented aliens, the absurdities taught in schools about gender, and the pervasive radical activism in support of an Islamic caliphate, appear to be headed toward extinction.

We could be on the precipice of a new era with logic and reasoning as our guiding principles. And not a second too soon. China and Russia have their eyes set on weakening the United States. With Biden calling the shots, their end game was not only attainable but inevitable. Under Trump, not so much. 

America’s back; bad news for its foes, good news for us.
