North American Arms built its Mini-Revolver line around compact dimensions and simple mechanics. The Black Widow keeps that foundation while giving the shooter more grip, barrel, and sighting surface than the company’s smallest configurations.
The Black Widow uses a five-shot cylinder, a 2-inch heavy vent barrel, fixed Marble Arms sights, and an oversized rubber grip. Overall length measures 5.88 inches, height measures 3.69 inches, width measures one inch, and listed weight is 8.9 ounces.
The specifications still put the Black Widow squarely in mini-revolver territory. North American Arms simply uses the available space differently here.
More Grip Without Losing the Format
The oversized rubber grip creates the most immediate difference.
It gives the hand more contact area than a minimal grip while keeping the revolver compact. The larger surface also makes the Black Widow look and feel more substantial without changing its basic single-action layout.
NAA pairs the grip with a bull cylinder and a heavy vent barrel. Those parts add visual mass through the center and front of the revolver, but the overall package still weighs less than nine ounces.
Compactness remains central to the design. The Black Widow simply gives the shooter more real estate than the smallest possible Mini-Revolver configuration.
The Two-Inch Barrel Earns Its Place
The 2-inch heavy vent barrel does more than change the profile. Extra barrel length increases the distance between the front and rear sights, giving the shooter a longer sight radius than a shorter-barreled mini-revolver can provide.
Fixed Marble Arms sights give the Black Widow a clearly defined aiming reference. Very small handguns leave little room for a useful sight picture, so the combination of a longer barrel and visible sights carries real design value here.
North American Arms does not turn the Black Widow into a target revolver. It keeps the proportions compact while giving the shooter a more conventional set of visual references.
Simple, Familiar Mechanics
The Black Widow remains a five-shot, single-action revolver. The shooter manually cocks the hammer before each shot, the same straightforward operation NAA uses throughout its Mini-Revolver family.

North American Arms also keeps its safety-notch cylinder system on the Black Widow.
The notches between the chambers give the hammer a resting point away from the cartridge rim when the shooter positions the cylinder correctly. The system keeps the operating concept familiar across the Mini-Revolver line without adding another control or mechanism.
The Black Widow earns its character through proportion rather than added mechanical complexity. Grip size, barrel length, cylinder profile, and sights account for the meaningful differences.
Where the Black Widow Fits
Within NAA’s catalog, the Black Widow does not chase the smallest possible dimensions. It keeps the established Mini-Revolver format while adding usable size where it matters most.
