Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) said Wednesday that if she becomes president in the 2020 election, she will take executive action to ban the importation of so-called “assault weapons,” reiterating what she has said previously about her first 100 days in office.
According to the Tacoma News Tribune, Harris—one of nearly two-dozen liberal Democrats now running to replace Donald Trump next year—was speaking at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, according to CNN.
The former California attorney general, Harris has promised several gun control actions if she wins the presidential election next year. She also has promised to mandate so-called “universal background checks” and other measures if elected.
She has a long way to go on the campaign trail before getting anywhere close to the nomination, however. And she is not alone in her zeal for more gun control. Virtually every other Democrat on the expanding list of candidates has some sort of gun control in his or her agenda, and none of them disavowed a sweeping proposal recently announced by Democrat Sen. Cory Booker that was so alarming it got a reaction from the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, a national gun rights organization.
CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb called Booker’s proposal “demagoguery on steroids.” He said it was “alarming” that none of the other Democrats running for the presidency disavowed Booker’s gun control package.
“Proposals like this underscore why American gun owners are increasingly distrustful of Democrats,” Gottlieb said about Booker’s extremist gun control package.
CNN quoted Harris insisting that gun control cannot be allowed to become a partisan issue. However, that problem seems to have already taken root, with Democrats proposing and/or supporting lots of gun control measures in recent months while Trump has been quietly appointing pro-Second Amendment judges to the federal district courts, and filled two Supreme Court vacancies with conservative justices.
Fox News reported that Harris made the statements as she “tries to reinvigorate her campaign.” Many Democrats in the growing field have fallen far behind in polling since former Vice President Joe Biden entered the race. He is now the party front-runner.
Are Kamala Harris’ proposals against the Second Amendment a desperate move to reinvigorate a failing campaign or a threat equally echoed by her democratic rivals for the presidency? Share your answers int he comment section.

I honestly think the socialist/communist states like California, New York, New Jersey, etc. should just go ahead and succeed from the Union. That would remove their cancerous growth from our Constitution!
