Contrary to how the mainstream media depicts gun owners, individuals of all backgrounds possess firearms in the United States.
One trip through woke social media pages like X or Meta, and it’s clear there is a war on gun owners.
Negative gun stories bombard us daily. Rarely do we hear the counterpoint to this axiom.
Stories are skewed to depict guns, and gun owners by proxy, as dangerous and a threat to everyday life. The stereotypical gun owner in America is a White Nationalist seething with hate.
Such a narrative is taken as doctrine by anyone who doesn’t know better.
However, nothing could be further from the truth to a trained individual. Some of the most responsible, equitable individuals I have met in my life have been gun owners.
The fact is, the world we live in is turbulent.
There are omnipresent threats the moment one walks out the front door. This is not catastrophic thinking – it is an undeniable fact. Opportunists lurk in society and prey on the weak.
With money scarce, and many struggling, crime becomes a natural byproduct.
How best to defend yourself if a threat emerges?
What if the assailant is clutching a gun? They’re packing, you’re not; the outcome is academic. I am not fear-mongering – I am simply stating facts.
Many fail to realize that victimization is avoidable with a little bit of preparation.
Instead of hoping you don’t fall into the clutches of wrongdoers, take action.
Owning a firearm can mean the difference between life and death. Utilize your Second Amendment right and be prepared for anything.
Part of being a responsible gun owner is learning how to properly conduct oneself. This takes years of training and there is always room for improvement.
Much as in life, you can never know too much and you can never stop learning.
Regardless of what the anti-gun lobby pedals, increased firearm ownership by law-abiding citizens reduces crime.
Criminals have a bevy of options to arm themselves with other than guns. They have access to knives, baseball bats, and tire irons, to name a few.
Should an individual target you or a loved one, your best bet to stop them? You guessed it; a gun.
Unfortunately, one rarely hears such statements from the anti-gun lobby.
They bring up school shootings whenever possible to help sway attitudes concerning guns. Emotional pleas for gun reform are commonplace by Leftists who yearn for more governance in our daily lives.
Don’t be swayed by such tactics.
Detach from the issue and you will learn to see how responsible gun ownership makes for safer neighbourhoods, and by extension, safer schools.
Think of law enforcement as an example. Police officers deal with all sorts of people and many of their interactions are with the most dangerous individuals society has to offer.
And what do all police officers possess while patrolling our streets? Drum roll, please.
You guessed it; guns.
With a degree of critical thinking, even liberals with anti-gun sentiments can come to the light.
In my 20’s I held very staunch anti-gun beliefs thanks in large part to the socialization I experienced in American schools.
It wasn’t until my 30’s that I began to uncover why so many in power pushed the anti-gun agenda.
When they have guns and we don’t, we become powerless and are at the mercy of autocratic, power-hungry politicians.
One can play blind man and think the world is full of sunshine and rainbows.
Or, one can be realistic and accept the fact that evil exists in the world.
The thing about evil is that you cannot reason with it. You cannot run from it. You cannot convince it to seek out another target.
But you sure as hell can protect yourself against it.

It’s nice that you mentioned how learning how to properly conduct oneself is part of being a responsible gun owner. My older brother said I should own a gun, so I am thinking of following his advice. So, I am planning to visit a gun shop next week.
