Hong Kong Versus the Second Amendment
I am sure you have heard the joke, “What did Californians use before candles? Electricity.” It is a cruel joke that is currently bordering on reality. Along a similar vein, what did the people of Hong Kong have before tyranny? Liberty. I will admit that the liberty they had during their rule by the English was not what we are used to. By the same token, what we are used to is much endangered these days, as well. Just look at the Kangaroo Court show trials in an attempt to impeach the President that we have going on; but that is another issue entirely. [Read more…] about Hong Kong Versus the Second Amendment
Finding Order With a Gun Addiction
I think “order” makes for a better level of life. I like to have my projects laid out in advance and work on them in the order they meet the deadline. This keeps the editor and I on a first name basis. By the same token, I like getting paid on time and I have rooted out from my list of companies those that do not pay on time, or don’t pay at all, or make mistakes that make us all look dumb—as my favorite editor reads this he is amused. While all that is fun to talk about, this article is about managing my gun addiction. [Read more…] about Finding Order With a Gun Addiction
Warren: The Battle to be the Most Anti-Gun Candidate
In a war of one-upmanship, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is leading most polls, but what about the battle to be the most anti-gun candidate? I am not sure whether Warren is in the lead on that front after Beto’s “Hell yes, we will take your AR-15 and AK-47s!),” but she is certainly in the running to trample our Rights and ability to defend ourselves. A couple months ago, Sen. Warren penned her positions on gun control. There was not much new — licensing of gun owners, waiting periods, increasing taxes on guns and ammunition, limiting firearm purchases, raising the minimum purchasing age, banning so-called “assault weapons” and full capacity magazines. Pointing Out the Fallacies of Red Flag Laws
Buried in a story from WOSU about the introduction of new gun control legislation in Ohio by Gov. Mike DeWine that does not include a so-called “red flag” disarmament provision is an observation by Buckeye Lt. Gov. Jon Husted that reveals a genuine problem many Second Amendment activists contend is inherent in Red Flag laws. [Read more…] about Pointing Out the Fallacies of Red Flag Laws
Thoughts: Handgun Stopping Power
In writing, I prefer my information to be valid, the research verifiable, and the experiments repeatable—especially when it come to handgun stopping power. I like to give the reader an opportunity to get a handle on things. Quite often the things that the critic points out harshly are the things the majority of the readers find valuable. I have found that the subject of handgun wound potential or handgun stopping power isn’t a puzzle at all but remains a puzzle to those who make it so. I realize that there is no natural law that gives a man a reward that matches his endeavor, so I hope that the reader finds something of value in this work. Gun Control by Any Other Name Is Still Gun Control
In the aftermath of what was likely the most successful Gun Rights Policy Conference in its 34-year history, a story in the Deseret News, while not directly related to the Phoenix gathering, underscores much of what was said by many speakers about the ineffectiveness of gun control laws.

The K-Var Podcast With 221B Tactical That Shook the Law Enforcement and Firearms Community
Recently, I had the honor of being invited out to Las Vegas for a podcast interview with John Bartolo at K-Var Corp. I’ve know John for a few years now, so our industry relationship has grown into a true friendship. And frankly, that is what lead to this being such an epic interview; easily the best of my time as CEO of 221B Tactical. Beto: ‘Hell Yes, We’re Going to Take Your AR-15’ and the Crowd Cheers
While gun rights activists are burning up social media in the aftermath of Democrat presidential candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke’s on-stage admission that his gun control plan revolved around confiscation of modern sporting rifles, the more alarming part of that dramatic moment for Second Amendment advocates may have been the cheering audience. Gun Confiscation? Molon Labe
Megan McCain went on The View. Not sure why anyone to the right of Mao would do that, but she did. While there, she openly and directly stated the confiscation of guns, specifically AR-15s “would result in violence.” Her message was meant to explain to the gun banners that Americans will tolerate bloviation but not implementation of certain things—and gun confiscation is high on that list. Trump Court Appointments: Anti-Gunners in Panic Mode
The Washington Times has reported on President Donald Trump’s 150th judicial confirmation by the U.S. Senate, and the liberal establishment is freaking out in full panic mode. Since taking office 2.5 years ago, the president has appointed 105 judges to the lower federal courts, 43 circuit court judges, and filled two critical seats on the U.S. Supreme Court. All of this is alarming to the left, which adores activist judges and justices—so long as they are liberals—but becomes venomous when a conservative jurist ascends to the federal bench because they just might want to stick to the Constitution. Beware of Fake Guns and Parts
A Canandaigua, NY man named Jonathan Roberts is facing multiple charges after allegedly violating weapons laws by purchasing gun part modifications for Glocks from China. It all began when Customs and Border Patrol agents intercepted a package in New York City that contained a selector switch for a Glock. This device converts a Glock pistol into a fully automatic firearm, which is illegal. [Read more…] about Beware of Fake Guns and Parts
Anti-Gun Positions of Walmart, “I Ban Myself for Life!”
It wasn’t enough that the descendants of Sam Walton have pivoted radically away from the Made in the USA mantra, so Walmart could make money at any cost. The rot that invades much of the American corporate culture seems to have taken root there as well, capitulation to the social media masses. They now bow to the basement dwelling outrage mob who demands action, as in Mom’s Demand Action. [Read more…] about Anti-Gun Positions of Walmart, “I Ban Myself for Life!”
San Francisco Declares NRA a Domestic Terrorist Organization
Two editorial columns at opposite sides of the country just drew a line that even the San Francisco Board of Supervisors should be able to see after their unanimous approval of a resolution earlier this week declaring the National Rifle Association a “domestic terrorist organization.” [Read more…] about San Francisco Declares NRA a Domestic Terrorist Organization
House Democrats Focus on Straws, not Solutions
As the argument surrounding gun control and the Second Amendment occupies daily space in the mainstream media as anti-gun zealots — especially House Democrats — resort to increasingly outlandish claims in order to get the attention they seek. Most recently, U.S. Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) compared the current campaign to force new gun restrictions through Congress to efforts by some state and local governments to ban plastic straws. Walmart Drops Handgun and Rifle Ammo Sales
If timing is everything, the management at Walmart may have just made a decision that—at least in Washington State—may hurt its bottom line, as the store announced Tuesday it is discontinuing sales of handgun and rifle ammunition, according to the Washington Times. Tacoma to Seattle: Hold My Beer!
Seattle’s southern neighbor, Tacoma, Washington, is going to weigh a plan that’s already proven to be a failed policy. But since its anti-gun, city council members think it is worth adopting. City Councilman Ryan Mello proposed that Tacoma adopt Seattle’s so-called “gun violence tax” plan that would levy a $25 tax on firearms, a two-cent-per-round tax on .22-caliber or less, or five-cent-per-round for all other ammunition that’s sold at retail. Congressmen Explain Gun Control Failures. Do Anti-Gunners Care?
Writing at Cincinnati.com Monday, a pair of Republican congressmen explain the problems with Capitol Hill gun control efforts, from not reading legislation to passing measures that will not prevent crimes, raising the most important question of all: Do devout anti-gunners even care?

NASCAR Rejects Gun Ads, Cites “Gradual Shift” on Guns
‘Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.’ ~Winston Churchill. The words are as true today as when Churchill uttered them in 1948 or George Santayana when he originally said essentially the same thing in 1905. Yet, major organizations, those with no stake in politics, are taking political sides and alienating their consumers in the process. Perhaps the CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods was just ignorant of his consumer base or Yeti made a miscalculation when it cut ties with the NRA. However, when it comes to NASCAR taking an anti-gun approach, it simply baffles the imagination as to who is calling the shots and how out of touch they are with their fan base. Self-Defense: We Must Do “Something”
The shootings in Dayton and El Paso were horrible events. People who were going about their lives were gunned down by deranged “people.” The fallen are a continued source of pain to those who miss them. The wounded will have mental and physical scars for the rest of their lives. My heart goes out to the families of the dead, the wounded, and those who were traumatized by being there, even if a bullet did not find them. [Read more…] about Self-Defense: We Must Do “Something”
Boone and Crockett Releases Lead Ammunition Statement
MISSOULA, MT (July 16, 2019) — The Boone and Crockett Club released a position statement today in light of California’s statewide ban on lead ammunition for hunters, which took effect on July 1, 2019. Triggered by concerns for the endangered California condor, which inhabit some regions of the state, a bill was signed into law in October 2013 banning all lead ammunition for the taking of game anywhere in the state.
