Armed Good Guy: Home Invasion Stopped With AR-15
News stories of civilian self-defense seldom receive adequate media coverage. After all, an armed good guy stopping violent felons does not make headlines like the lives of innocents being taken. Bias and agendas play their part, but the media does not cover an event that did not happen, such as a case where a good guy stopped a violent event before it resulted in the loss of innocent life. However, these are exactly the type of stories we need to highlight to educate non gun owners before they head to the voting booth. [Read more…] about Armed Good Guy: Home Invasion Stopped With AR-15

Review: The RIA 10mm — The Commander With No Name
Some time ago, the 10mm cartridge hit the ground running and enjoyed a flash of popularity. Soon after, the 10mm was eclipsed by the .40 Smith and Wesson cartridge. The 10mm was kept going by a small, but loyal base. However, the 10mm is enjoying a credible comeback. Recently, the RIA crossed my desk, and I could not wait to get to the rage for a test run. Impeachment Announcement Halts Gun Control…
By opening an impeachment inquiry, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) likely crushed any notion of a path forward on gun legislation. White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said the move “destroyed any chances of legislative progress.” If, there are any positives coming out of the circus in Washington, it may well be an ineptness at passing legislation. That would normally be a negative. However, when it comes to gun control, “Release the clowns!”

Gun Control by Any Other Name Is Still Gun Control
In the aftermath of what was likely the most successful Gun Rights Policy Conference in its 34-year history, a story in the Deseret News, while not directly related to the Phoenix gathering, underscores much of what was said by many speakers about the ineffectiveness of gun control laws.

Gun Test: Remington 870 DM
The Remington 870 DM is a detachable magazine, pump-action shotgun that is garnering a great deal of interest and both positive and negative comments. It isn’t the first detachable magazine shotgun, as the AK types have been in use for some time, and there are detachable aftermarket kits for modifying existing shotguns. However, this is a production pump-action shotgun from Big Green. [Read more…] about Gun Test: Remington 870 DM

Taurus 856 and 857 Versus S&W J Frame Revolvers
At the 2018 SHOT show, among the more interesting revolvers was the Taurus 856 revolver. The 856 is based upon the proven and immensely popular Taurus 85, a small-frame revolver that holds five .38 Special cartridges. The 856 is a version of the Model 85 with a six-shot cylinder. It is quite an engineering feat to design such a revolver. [Read more…] about Taurus 856 and 857 Versus S&W J Frame Revolvers

National Hunting and Fishing Day 9.28.19
Over 100 years ago, hunters and anglers were the earliest and most vocal supporters of conservation and scientific wildlife management. They were the first to recognize that rapid development and unregulated uses of wildlife were threatening the future of many species. [Read more…] about National Hunting and Fishing Day 9.28.19

Range Report: Rossi RS22 Rifle
Like many of you I fired my first shots with a .22 rifle. It was some time before my grandfather allowed me to graduate from a single shot .22 to a self-loading rifle. The .22 self-loader is a great, all-around plinking, small game hunting, and training rifle. In many rural areas the .22 rifle is the first line of defense against predators both bipedal and quadraped. [Read more…] about Range Report: Rossi RS22 Rifle

Gun Test: Heritage Rough Rider
For many of us, the .22 revolver is an inexpensive handgun to coax young shooters into safe handling and marksmanship. While I like a high grade .22 revolver as much as anyone, a handgun that costs less than $200, but delivers good service, is appealing. The Heritage Rough Rider is among these. Beto: ‘Hell Yes, We’re Going to Take Your AR-15’ and the Crowd Cheers
While gun rights activists are burning up social media in the aftermath of Democrat presidential candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke’s on-stage admission that his gun control plan revolved around confiscation of modern sporting rifles, the more alarming part of that dramatic moment for Second Amendment advocates may have been the cheering audience. Gun Confiscation? Molon Labe
Megan McCain went on The View. Not sure why anyone to the right of Mao would do that, but she did. While there, she openly and directly stated the confiscation of guns, specifically AR-15s “would result in violence.” Her message was meant to explain to the gun banners that Americans will tolerate bloviation but not implementation of certain things—and gun confiscation is high on that list. Trump Court Appointments: Anti-Gunners in Panic Mode
The Washington Times has reported on President Donald Trump’s 150th judicial confirmation by the U.S. Senate, and the liberal establishment is freaking out in full panic mode. Since taking office 2.5 years ago, the president has appointed 105 judges to the lower federal courts, 43 circuit court judges, and filled two critical seats on the U.S. Supreme Court. All of this is alarming to the left, which adores activist judges and justices—so long as they are liberals—but becomes venomous when a conservative jurist ascends to the federal bench because they just might want to stick to the Constitution.
