Federal Syntech: Next Generation Training Ammunition

Ammunition manufacturers have made great strides when it comes to hunting and self-defense ammunition. Training ammunition, however, has progressed little. Oh sure, your can buy steel case ammunition or remanufactured ammunition at a decent price, but I am talking about training ammunition that still maintains its price point, but offers a technological advantage. Federal recently finished a years long development of a new practice load, and the American Eagle Syntech is well worth your time and effort to obtain and use. CCRKBA: ‘When Will You Blame the Murderers?’

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), has issued a challenge to the gun prohibition lobby. Following the recent attack at Santa Fe High School in Texas that left 10 dead and another 10 wounded, Gottlieb wants to know why anti-gun groups never seem to blame the perpetrators of such horrendous crimes. Riton Optics: Veteran Owned, Quality Driven

My conversation with Brady Speth, Owner of Riton Optics, began like this:

I would challenge anyone—in or out of the industry—to find a better, higher quality product on the market today at any of our price points. We looked and continue looking and can’t find it.

Video: Head and Scope Position for Long-Range Shooting

The best part of shooting is the reward of hitting your target. Optics offer a major improvement in accuracy potential, but only when used properly. Properly mounting an optic on a long gun is critical, just as critical as your mount to the gun. In this video, Former Army Ranger sniper team leader Ryan Cleckner explains how proper head and scope position are critical components to accurate shooting. Gun Test: Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP

The newest model in the Charter Arms Pitbull series can share ammo with your .45 ACP without using moonclips! I’ve always liked large frame revolvers chambered in .45 ACP. I like the idea of being able to fire the same cartridge as my 1911 and other .45 ACP pistols, in a revolver. The problem I’ve had with these revolvers is an on-again, off-again relationship with moonclips. You need moonclips to quickly load and reload these big bore revolvers. The problem is clip bend or break.  [Read more…] about Gun Test: Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP

Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

The City of Seattle is in the midst of a political civil war following the City Council’s unanimous approval of a “head tax” on big business, with even the Seattle Times encouraging a citizen initiative to derail what it calls “the destructive, opportunity-killing” measure, arguing that “this is needed to reverse the city’s hostility to business.” [Read more…] about Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

A Case for the Modern Revolver

Contrary to what you may see in a lot of the popular firearms media these days, the revolver as a self-defense tool is not dead. In fact, there are quite a few options available these days for those seeking a revolver for home defense, concealed carry or recreational shooting. But why would you choose a revolver when there are so many semi-automatic pistols available these days? Well, let me explain why you should consider one. ‘Un-Happy Mother’s Day’ for Jailed Michigan Woman

A pregnant Michigan woman is looking at a very unhappy Mother’s Day while she sits in prison after being convicted of assault and felony firearms—a term alluding to the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony—in a case from 2017 that has fired up gun rights advocates, but the National Review suggests suffers from muddy waters. Choosing the Right Holster

When you choose a handgun and holster, you are investing in a concealed carry system. The holster is an important part of the system, at least as important as the handgun itself. I have seen too many unserviceable, sorry excuses for holsters in my classes, and the hell of it is many carry such holsters to defend their life! [Read more…] about Choosing the Right Holster

Women Top New Concealed Carry Licensees

For gun control advocates, any discussion of concealed carry reciprocity is already over. If they have anything to say about it, you will have no such right. Across America, meanwhile, a growing segment of gun owners aren’t talking about gun rights. They’re acting. [Read more…] about Women Top New Concealed Carry Licensees

Illinois — Defeating Gun Control

It is not too often we get a chance to report on a state known for opposing the Second Amendment for doing the right thing and defeating gun control legislation. Recently, Illinois law makers passed a bill that would have all but resulted in the outright ruination of every gun retailer in the state. The State was attempting to, in essence, create its own FFL license complete with the fees and provisions it would set. [Read more…] about Illinois — Defeating Gun Control

Teachers: Politics Over Children’s Safety?

Recently, The Gallup Panel focused on an issue that is a hot political issue for many: gun control and teachers. On Valentine’s Day, 2018, a former Parkland student killed 17 people and wounded 17 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Since that day, gun control has dominated the national news cycle, with media outlets releasing daily articles, reports and broadcasts on the topic.
