Anti-Gun Meltdown After Kansas Politician Drives in Parade With Replica Gun

Republican Kansas governor hopeful Kris Kobach said, “[He won’t] back down in the face of a snowflake meltdown and outrage culture” after being criticized for riding in a jeep mounted with a replica of a large gun at a parade on Saturday according to Fox News. Shooting Tip: Clean and Repair on the Go

Most serious long-range shooters have a regular collection of products and tools at home to clean and repair their rifles and accessories. Novices, hunters, and plinkers need the same. Since you can’t tote your gun room into the field, the question becomes, “What should I carry along when hunting or competing?”

RMR on an AK? RS Regulate’s New AKMR

RS Regulate has been manufacturing two-piece AK optics mounting solutions for AK pattern rifles for a number of years. Its first-gen mounts combined an upper mount dovetailed into a lower mount. This was a solution that could be used to put the optic directly over-bore—something not all mounts can do when it comes to AK side rails with variable thicknesses—but offered limited adjustability front-to-back as well as limited which optics that could be used. Good Guys Using Guns for Self-Defense

Good Guys using guns for self-defense is one thing the news fails to sufficiently cover. Oh sure, the antis are out in full force whenever someone commits a heinous act, blaming and vilifying the firearm more than the perpetrator. The loss of life is very serious, and we do not wish to aggrandize the loss of any life, whether or not it was justified. However, given the current daily assaults to our Second Amendment rights headlining the mainstream media’s coverage, highlighting instances where firearms were used for self-defense to educate ourselves as lawful concealed carriers and non gun owners is more critical than ever—especially with the midterm elections looming. Gun Test: SIG P226 — The Definition of Reliability

Choosing a handgun for self-defense is a helluva decision, almost too important for an individual to make. While it is a personal decision at the end of the day, it really needs a committee to vet the decision and narrow the choices, similar to the military choosing a new service weapon. Of course, you could skip all of the hoopla and look to service weapons. The SIG P226 for instance was a favorite of the U.S. Navy SEALs for many years. Anti Gunners: Use Any Tactic That Will Win

The American Spectator on Wednesday published a scathing analysis of recent school shootings and the Left’s knee-jerk response that takes the Obama administration’s education secretary to task for his “shoot-from-the-hip” reaction to the Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas. New Rules Could be a Boon for Firearms Manufacturers

The Trump administration is attempting to reduce red tape for firearms manufacturers, which would allow them to be more profitable and compete on the international market. However, legislation has been introduced by anti-gun members of Congress that could derail the effort. [Read more…] about New Rules Could be a Boon for Firearms Manufacturers

Cover and Concealment: Win the Fight

The difference between cover and concealment isn’t always properly understood. Concealment is a sheet on the clothesline or a bush. A truck or concrete abutment is cover. Rifle cartridges are powerful enough to cut through cover that would stop the most powerful handguns so the difference in rifle and handgun power is also a consideration. Those who find cover may live, whether or not they are able to shoot their assailant. [Read more…] about Cover and Concealment: Win the Fight

Memorializing Memorial Day

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

Cocked and Locked: Reality Therapy

On my first night as a peace officer, the training officer I was assigned to asked, if I was prepared for a war. I was carrying a cocked and locked, hammer to the rear, safety on, Colt Combat Commander .45 in a Safariland holster. Two spare magazines were on the left front. I may have been a little ahead of the times. [Read more…] about Cocked and Locked: Reality Therapy

Outrage: Boulder Violates 2A, 5A, 14A, and CO Constitution

Although you may not be surprised by the location, you should still be concerned by the action. Boulder Colorado recently joined the totalitarian regimes of California, Washington, Chicago and New York City when it passed an ordinance banning so-called ‘assault weapons’ in addition to bump stocks. While that is ludicrous on it face, Boulder’s definition of of assault weapon is even worse. Federal Syntech: Next Generation Training Ammunition

Ammunition manufacturers have made great strides when it comes to hunting and self-defense ammunition. Training ammunition, however, has progressed little. Oh sure, your can buy steel case ammunition or remanufactured ammunition at a decent price, but I am talking about training ammunition that still maintains its price point, but offers a technological advantage. Federal recently finished a years long development of a new practice load, and the American Eagle Syntech is well worth your time and effort to obtain and use. CCRKBA: ‘When Will You Blame the Murderers?’

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), has issued a challenge to the gun prohibition lobby. Following the recent attack at Santa Fe High School in Texas that left 10 dead and another 10 wounded, Gottlieb wants to know why anti-gun groups never seem to blame the perpetrators of such horrendous crimes. Riton Optics: Veteran Owned, Quality Driven

My conversation with Brady Speth, Owner of Riton Optics, began like this:

Video: Head and Scope Position for Long-Range Shooting

The best part of shooting is the reward of hitting your target. Optics offer a major improvement in accuracy potential, but only when used properly. Properly mounting an optic on a long gun is critical, just as critical as your mount to the gun. In this video, Former Army Ranger sniper team leader Ryan Cleckner explains how proper head and scope position are critical components to accurate shooting. Gun Test: Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP

The newest model in the Charter Arms Pitbull series can share ammo with your .45 ACP without using moonclips! I’ve always liked large frame revolvers chambered in .45 ACP. I like the idea of being able to fire the same cartridge as my 1911 and other .45 ACP pistols, in a revolver. The problem I’ve had with these revolvers is an on-again, off-again relationship with moonclips. You need moonclips to quickly load and reload these big bore revolvers. The problem is clip bend or break.  [Read more…] about Gun Test: Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP

Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

The City of Seattle is in the midst of a political civil war following the City Council’s unanimous approval of a “head tax” on big business, with even the Seattle Times encouraging a citizen initiative to derail what it calls “the destructive, opportunity-killing” measure, arguing that “this is needed to reverse the city’s hostility to business.” [Read more…] about Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

A Case for the Modern Revolver

Contrary to what you may see in a lot of the popular firearms media these days, the revolver as a self-defense tool is not dead. In fact, there are quite a few options available these days for those seeking a revolver for home defense, concealed carry or recreational shooting. But why would you choose a revolver when there are so many semi-automatic pistols available these days? Well, let me explain why you should consider one. ‘Un-Happy Mother’s Day’ for Jailed Michigan Woman

A pregnant Michigan woman is looking at a very unhappy Mother’s Day while she sits in prison after being convicted of assault and felony firearms—a term alluding to the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony—in a case from 2017 that has fired up gun rights advocates, but the National Review suggests suffers from muddy waters.
