Good Guys Using Guns for Self-Defense

Good Guys using guns for self-defense is one thing the news fails to sufficiently cover. Oh sure, the antis are out in full force whenever someone commits a heinous act, blaming and vilifying the firearm more than the perpetrator. The loss of life is very serious, and we do not wish to aggrandize the loss of any life, whether or not it was justified. However, given the current daily assaults to our Second Amendment rights headlining the mainstream media’s coverage, highlighting instances where firearms were used for self-defense to educate ourselves as lawful concealed carriers and non gun owners is more critical than ever—especially with the midterm elections looming. Anti Gunners: Use Any Tactic That Will Win

The American Spectator on Wednesday published a scathing analysis of recent school shootings and the Left’s knee-jerk response that takes the Obama administration’s education secretary to task for his “shoot-from-the-hip” reaction to the Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas. New Rules Could be a Boon for Firearms Manufacturers

The Trump administration is attempting to reduce red tape for firearms manufacturers, which would allow them to be more profitable and compete on the international market. However, legislation has been introduced by anti-gun members of Congress that could derail the effort. [Read more…] about New Rules Could be a Boon for Firearms Manufacturers

Outrage: Boulder Violates 2A, 5A, 14A, and CO Constitution

Although you may not be surprised by the location, you should still be concerned by the action. Boulder Colorado recently joined the totalitarian regimes of California, Washington, Chicago and New York City when it passed an ordinance banning so-called ‘assault weapons’ in addition to bump stocks. While that is ludicrous on it face, Boulder’s definition of of assault weapon is even worse. Riton Optics: Veteran Owned, Quality Driven

My conversation with Brady Speth, Owner of Riton Optics, began like this:

I would challenge anyone—in or out of the industry—to find a better, higher quality product on the market today at any of our price points. We looked and continue looking and can’t find it.

Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

The City of Seattle is in the midst of a political civil war following the City Council’s unanimous approval of a “head tax” on big business, with even the Seattle Times encouraging a citizen initiative to derail what it calls “the destructive, opportunity-killing” measure, arguing that “this is needed to reverse the city’s hostility to business.” [Read more…] about Seattle: Tax and Spend Hostile to Business

‘Un-Happy Mother’s Day’ for Jailed Michigan Woman

A pregnant Michigan woman is looking at a very unhappy Mother’s Day while she sits in prison after being convicted of assault and felony firearms—a term alluding to the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony—in a case from 2017 that has fired up gun rights advocates, but the National Review suggests suffers from muddy waters. Women Top New Concealed Carry Licensees

For gun control advocates, any discussion of concealed carry reciprocity is already over. If they have anything to say about it, you will have no such right. Across America, meanwhile, a growing segment of gun owners aren’t talking about gun rights. They’re acting. [Read more…] about Women Top New Concealed Carry Licensees

Illinois — Defeating Gun Control

It is not too often we get a chance to report on a state known for opposing the Second Amendment for doing the right thing and defeating gun control legislation. Recently, Illinois law makers passed a bill that would have all but resulted in the outright ruination of every gun retailer in the state. The State was attempting to, in essence, create its own FFL license complete with the fees and provisions it would set. [Read more…] about Illinois — Defeating Gun Control

Diamond and Silk — NRA 2018

I am sure Diamond and Silk will be a surprise to many of you. However, at the opening of the NRA Convention’s Leadership Forum, when Chris Cox was announcing the roll call speakers, perhaps the only one to get a bigger round of applause and cheers than Diamond and Silk was President Trump. Watch the video to see why. [Read more…] about Diamond and Silk — NRA 2018

Teachers: Politics Over Children’s Safety?

Recently, The Gallup Panel focused on an issue that is a hot political issue for many: gun control and teachers. On Valentine’s Day, 2018, a former Parkland student killed 17 people and wounded 17 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Since that day, gun control has dominated the national news cycle, with media outlets releasing daily articles, reports and broadcasts on the topic. NSSF Gives Dick’s the Boot

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF®) Board of Governors unanimously voted to expel Dick’s Sporting Goods from their organization. The Board cited Dick’s for “…conduct detrimental to the best interests of the Foundation” in a press release today. The NSSF is the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting, and shooting sports industries. The decision by the board was unanimous and was based upon the fact that Dick’s recently hired lobbyists pushing for gun control measures, though the specific measures are not stated. NPR: Danger of Firearm Ownership Outweighs Self-Defense Right

NPR, although it claims to be straight down the middle and apolitical, bias certainly rears its ugly head now and then. By admission, I understand the need to cause a little controversy to stimulate one, or both, sides of a political position to further the debate. However, when NPR recently challenged gun ownership for self-defense without a counterpoint to defend our position, it raised my hackles. Guns, Rights — Taken Without Due Process

“Concerned a Co-Worker Is Dangerous? the KQED News headline asks. “This bill would let you petition the state to take their guns.” To make the case for adding to the state’s citizen disarmament options, a couple examples are given of California “gun violence restraining orders” being used to take guns away under petitions filed by family members or law enforcement officers. This latest push expands the list of those eligible to initiate gun seizures to employers, co-workers, high school and college staff members, and mental health workers. NRA-ILA: Again Fighting for the Second Amendment

Living a few hours south of Chicago, the anti-gun policies from Illinois’ blue dot, known as Cook County, in an otherwise red state are a real threat. Recently, a small town with a rather affluent population passed a ridiculous ban which prohibits the possession of popular sporting rifles such as the AR-15 and standard capacity magazines. However, just because you have money does not mean you can pass regulations that infringe on the citizen’s rights, and the NRA-ILA has joined the fight. Council of Great City Schools: Anti-Second Amendment Resolution

The Council of Great City Schools has published a resolution calling for severe infringements on the Second Amendment. It is something all gun owners and parents should be concerned with. The resolution is full of truisms, falsehoods, and logical fallacies that the masses (sheeple), if they took the time to read the resolution may gloss right over without an understanding or challenge.
