NRA-ILA: Again Fighting for the Second Amendment

Living a few hours south of Chicago, the anti-gun policies from Illinois’ blue dot, known as Cook County, in an otherwise red state are a real threat. Recently, a small town with a rather affluent population passed a ridiculous ban which prohibits the possession of popular sporting rifles such as the AR-15 and standard capacity magazines. However, just because you have money does not mean you can pass regulations that infringe on the citizen’s rights, and the NRA-ILA has joined the fight. Council of Great City Schools: Anti-Second Amendment Resolution

The Council of Great City Schools has published a resolution calling for severe infringements on the Second Amendment. It is something all gun owners and parents should be concerned with. The resolution is full of truisms, falsehoods, and logical fallacies that the masses (sheeple), if they took the time to read the resolution may gloss right over without an understanding or challenge. Slide Fire Throws in the Towel and Ceases Operations

As a result of recent regulation, we have lost yet another firearms related business—not to the forces of the market or competition and not due a slowing number of sales or profits. Instead, Slide Fire is closing its doors due the whims of the feel-good politics of politicians and the efforts of gun control advocates. Olmos Park, Texas Gun Rights March

Over 540 gun rights thought-leaders converged on the community of Olmos Park, Texas to address grievances against Chief Rene Valenciano and some of his operational command, who have abused Texas citizens—according to the protesters and others who have seen documented video footage of the violations, deviating from good policing practices on the streets of Olmos Park, online, and on social media. A Lesson for Americans, Canada Teen Fights Gun Control

This is the story of a Canadian teenager who started an electronic petition to thwart the Canadian government’s latest gun control bill. American teens could learn something here. Four Guns You Should Own

When I first started buying guns, I looked to fill categories. I needed a handgun, hunting rifle, and a shotgun. Next, I looked for a military rifle, something that was historic and battle proven. Next, I broke the handgun category to a revolver and a semi-automatic. The hunting rifle quickly expanded to rimfire, big game and varmint rifles. However you decide to select your next gun, here are four guns every shooting enthusiast should own. [Read more…] about Four Guns You Should Own

LaserLyte Trainer Trigger Tyme Laser Pistol Trainers

Since I discovered the LaserLyte laser training system, my home has about the same volume of laser beams bouncing around as your average rock concert or Star Wars movie. That might not be an entirely accurate, however it sure seems that I do a ton of laser training. When cold or rainy days are coming, my indoor laser training train will jump even more. Advice from a Russian: Never Give Up Your Guns

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt, and culturally degenerating U.S.A., but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one’s self and possessions. This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, the Russians were one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. NSSF: YouTube’s New Policy Causes for Concern

YouTube’s announcement this week of a new firearms content policy is troubling. We [National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)] suspect it will be interpreted to block much more content than the stated goal of firearms and certain accessory sales. Especially worrisome is the potential for blocking educational content that serves an instructional and skill-building purpose. YouTube’s policy announcement has also served to invite political activists to flood their review staff with complaints about any video to which they may proffer manufactured outrage. FLIR: Go Thermal to Be the Predator

Thanks to FLIR, I got to be a “Predator” for one night last month and it was really cool. For those who don’t remember, Predator was a 1987 movie (and series of forgettable remakes) in which an alien creature hunted down various supporting actors for sport and killed them in gruesome fashion until Arnold Schwarzenegger saves the day. Among other assets, the Predator had thermal vision that allowed him to stalk the various players until the final battle wherein Arnold serves up a crushing defeat. It was one of the first times that the general public saw the advantages of thermal imaging. [Read more…] about FLIR: Go Thermal to Be the Predator

Armed Good Samaritan Stops Rape

For years, Josh Williams has run at least once a week along Austin’s busy Hike-and-Bike trail. He always carries his cell phone and a flashlight. He also carries a gun in a belly band holster when he runs. On the morning of Sept. 15, he heard a woman’s screams in the distance. Hear the full account of what happened from the armed good samaritan. [Read more…] about Armed Good Samaritan Stops Rape

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio Pulls All Police From Public Schools

Right now, today, every day, the Second Amendment is under continual attack. State and federal legislatures are considering a host of misguided and ill-intentioned bills that will have no direct effect on preventing a tragedy similar to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Yet, it was that tragedy that lit the fuse on the latest round of anti-gun bills set to strip citizens of their right to bear arms. Now, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has taken anti-gun absurdity to a whole new level that endangers the safety of New York’s public school children. Tar and Feathers for Anti-Gun Senators

What happened when about a dozen Florida state senators supported a sweeping gun control bill? Simple, the people started letting them know how they felt about the vote by sending jars of tar and feathers to express their displeasure with the vote. However, that is not all that was sent. Dick’s Sporting Goods: A Dangerous Decision for Our Second Amendment Rights?

Having been in the Outdoors industry for two decades, I have had a bird’s eye view of the ebb and flow of Second Amendment support. Most gun owners I’ve met believe in personal freedoms. When that comes to corporations however, the decision to suspend or halt sales of certain items has often earned the ire of the gun owning community. Each business must weigh its corporate social responsibility to the community to potential repercussions from the consumer. Formal boycotts, social media rants, and the choice to take consumer dollars elsewhere as a form of silent protest are the norm, and that is simply due to a business’ decision of whether to carry a certain product or line of products. Dick’s Sporting Goods is one of the latest examples, but Dick’s has far surpassed a simple decision to not sell particular items.
