New Year’s Shutdown – No Not the Government, Its Instagram

2019 is already shaping up to be the year of the shutdown. You have political parties at odds on budgets as they discuss (but take no action on) border security. However, this is not the shutdown that most gun owners should be most concerned about. No, the shutdown that gun owners and advocates should be most concerned about is the wave of shutdowns on social media that continues to attack the firearms industry, its advocates, personalities and educators. It’s old news that Facebook and Instagram have been moving in this direction by targeting those they disagree with or with whom its users disagree with and report as violators of their ever-expanding rules and policies. What is new is that they are getting bolder and bolder by targeting larger firearm profiles. The most recent victims are the popular “slav squad” over at Polenar Tactical (don’t worry you can still follow Manca @mancameow – for now) and firearms company Definitive Arms.

NSSF Releases Congressional Scorecard — Midterm Election

Republican or Democrat — that is all that is necessary for many voters to select the candidate. Others are single issue voters and support candidate based on their position on a particular issue. Personally, I would not put myself in either of these camps, but a candidate’s voting record on firearms plays a significant role as to who will get my vote in the next election. Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) mourns the loss of William B. Ruger, Jr., former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ruger. Love him or hate him, you never have to scratch your head and wonder what is on President Trump’s mind. The Armory is guns, shooting, hunting and self-defense, so we can all check our politics at the door. However, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the firearms industry’s trade association has declared, “It’s here! Throughout August, all of America will be celebrating the shooting sports. Team USA Wins Silver in the Ladies Open Division IPSC World Shotgun Championships

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) held their Level V Shotgun World Shoot match June 3rd – June 10th in France. Team USA won Silver in the Ladies Open Division! Team USA (Lanny “Oakly” Barnes Siggins, Claudia Vidanes, Heather Miller, and Sky Killian) took second place in the 8-day long competition held in Chateauroux, France.
