Review: Glock 19X — The Ultimate Fighter

Perhaps the concept is not new to 1911s or other manufacturer’s offerings that come to mind, but the Glock 19X is more than a simple combination of two models. The Glock 19X signals a new direction, and perhaps, a new line of handguns for Glock. In case you are unfamiliar with the 19X, essentially it marries a Glock 19 length barrel with a full size Glock 17 frame. [Read more…] about Review: Glock 19X — The Ultimate Fighter

LaserLyte Trainer Trigger Tyme Laser Pistol Trainers

Since I discovered the LaserLyte laser training system, my home has about the same volume of laser beams bouncing around as your average rock concert or Star Wars movie. That might not be an entirely accurate, however it sure seems that I do a ton of laser training. When cold or rainy days are coming, my indoor laser training train will jump even more. ATF Lays Groundwork to Classify Bump-Stocks As MACHINEGUNS

On Friday, March 23, 2018, Attorney General Sessions announced that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is seeking to classify bump-stocks as machineguns. The Notice has not yet been published in the Federal Register, but it is available on DOJ’s website. If adopted, the rules will amend ATF’s regulations to “clarify” the terms “single function of the trigger,” “automatically,” and “machinegun” as follows: [Read more…] about ATF Lays Groundwork to Classify Bump-Stocks As MACHINEGUNS

New Jersey — The First State to Act Since the Teen Gun Control March

The first day back on the job since teens lead a march on Washington DC and New Jersey lawmakers have already voted for stricter gun laws. Ready for Self-Defense or Fight Ready?

When training, you cannot judge an individual based on the skills he has been taught nor can you judge a system by one student. Students can learn additional systems to add to their arsenal, but few who train are learning to fight, most train for self-defense only. [Read more…] about Ready for Self-Defense or Fight Ready?

Advice from a Russian: Never Give Up Your Guns

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt, and culturally degenerating U.S.A., but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one’s self and possessions. This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, the Russians were one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. NSSF: YouTube’s New Policy Causes for Concern

YouTube’s announcement this week of a new firearms content policy is troubling. We [National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)] suspect it will be interpreted to block much more content than the stated goal of firearms and certain accessory sales. Especially worrisome is the potential for blocking educational content that serves an instructional and skill-building purpose. YouTube’s policy announcement has also served to invite political activists to flood their review staff with complaints about any video to which they may proffer manufactured outrage. FLIR: Go Thermal to Be the Predator

Thanks to FLIR, I got to be a “Predator” for one night last month and it was really cool. For those who don’t remember, Predator was a 1987 movie (and series of forgettable remakes) in which an alien creature hunted down various supporting actors for sport and killed them in gruesome fashion until Arnold Schwarzenegger saves the day. Among other assets, the Predator had thermal vision that allowed him to stalk the various players until the final battle wherein Arnold serves up a crushing defeat. It was one of the first times that the general public saw the advantages of thermal imaging. [Read more…] about FLIR: Go Thermal to Be the Predator

Review: Taurus PT1911 — Street-Ready Rail Gun

The Taurus PT1911 is an affordable handgun with a long list of features. The 1911 is a great service and protection pistol, not to mention a match winning competition handgun. The Truth Behind Why Your Rights are Under Attack

Currently, the Second Amendment in general, and specifically the rights of millions of young Americans, are under assault. Why? Presumably, because of the actions of the single 19-year-old who committed mass murder in Parkland, Florida. While the shooter was an adult at the time and responsible for his actions, the government is more than a little culpable in setting the stage to allow this tragedy to happen. If you are some macho dude reading this eating steak covered in bacon and washing it down with dark beer and scotch with a 1911 holstered on your waist, the Glock G42 may not become your primary firearm. More Sanctions On Russia

The Trump administration announced new sanctions on Russia. These new sanctions appear to be the most stringent punishment yet by Trump for Russia’s election interference. In announcing the sanctions, the administration disclosed a Russian attempt to penetrate the U.S. energy grid and that the new sanctions would punish actors for their participation in other major cyberattacks. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio Pulls All Police From Public Schools

Right now, today, every day, the Second Amendment is under continual attack. State and federal legislatures are considering a host of misguided and ill-intentioned bills that will have no direct effect on preventing a tragedy similar to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Yet, it was that tragedy that lit the fuse on the latest round of anti-gun bills set to strip citizens of their right to bear arms. Now, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has taken anti-gun absurdity to a whole new level that endangers the safety of New York’s public school children. Glocks are always a favorite among shooters. The design is simple, standardized across the various models, and at the end of the day, you can count on a Glock to go bang! when you pull the trigger.
