Bump Fire — Vote “No” on New Gun Control

The Department of Justice (DOJ) anticipates issuing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would interpret the statutory definition of “machine gun” in the National Firearms Act of 1934 and Gun Control Act of 1968 to clarify whether certain devices, commonly known as bump fire stocks, fall within that definition. Before doing so, the DOJ and ATF need to gather information and comments from the public and industry regarding the nature and scope of the market for these devices. Medical Marijuana: ‘We Won’t Take Guns Away’

Marijuana, whether for medical or recreational purposes, is being legalized in many states across the country. Recreational uses have less protections, but the question of whether Medical Marijuana users should be allowed to own or possess firearms is at the forefront. According to the Federal government, it is illegal regardless of whether certain state laws, such as those in Pennsylvania may have legalized it.  [Read more…] about Medical Marijuana: ‘We Won’t Take Guns Away’

Gun Control on the Loose — CA, OR, KS

With all the insane new Gun Control laws beginning to clog up the agendas of State Capitols, it was only a matter of time before another State followed suit. Kansas Democrats have filed two gun control bills for the upcoming legislative session. Rep. Vic Miller, a Topeka Democrat, wants to ban bump stocks — rifle add-ons that make a semi-automatic weapon work much like a fully automatic gun. Sneak Peek: New Firearms for 2018

The past two years have have yielded little in the way of innovation. The Arex Rex Zero One and Walther Creed immediately come to mind. However, that is the past and we are concerned with 2018, so here are a few models worthy of a closer look. Springfield Goes Small With a New 1911

The 1911 is a proven platform and top performer in any caliber or size. Springfield’s 911 pistol would make a great carry gun, and excels as back-up gun (BUG). The 911 has all the features and familiarity of the 1911 with a few upgrades and a smaller size.

It’s like Springfield states in its introduction, “When the police are minutes away, but the threat is only seconds out.. 9-1-1. When you have to be your own first responder.”

Pelosi Lies About National Reciprocity

As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Of course, such a record would be an improvement for the Washington Post’s gun coverage. However, over the past year, the Post’s Fact Checker column has provided readers with a handful of well-researched pieces challenging the ridiculous assertions made by some gun control advocates. This week brought their latest, where writer Glenn Kessler admonished House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for her recent comments on H.R. 38, or the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017. 6 of the Dumbest Arguments by Anti-gun Dissenters

The Supreme Court of the State of Delaware upheld the right to keep and bear arms provision of the Delaware State Constitution in early December 2017. The provision was originally enacted in 1987 after passing through two separately elected legislatures. This is good news and certainly in line with Constitution. However, it is the ludicrous claims made in the dissention that is the most egregious part. [Read more…] about 6 of the Dumbest Arguments by Anti-gun Dissenters

NSSF Breaks Down the FixNICS Act

There is no shortage of people who believe system such as the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is an afront to the Second Amendment as an infringement. Therefore, the FixNICS legislation has met with some resistance from some and downright misinformation from others. In an attempt to set the record straight, even if you do not agree with it, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the primary force behind the Fix NICS Act has issue a statement explaining its position. Read the entire statement and then give your position in the comment section. [Read more…] about NSSF Breaks Down the FixNICS Act

H.R. 38: Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 Passes in the House

Good news for gun owners and self-defense enthusiasts alike! This week, the House easily passed, H.R. 38: Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, an expansion of the right to carry a concealed firearm across state lines. The basic premise being, if you are licensed to carry in one state, your license would cover you in all states—much the same as a driver’s license. Judiciary Committee Approves Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017

The language of the Second Amendment is pretty clear: “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” The only ones who seem unable to comprehend that simple sentence is the gun control crowd. Fortunately, for the rest of us the House Judiciary Committee just approved the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, a measure that, if approved by Congress, would then be signed into law by the president. Doing so would do away with state prohibitions on the carrying of concealed guns for self-defense, as well as a host of other Second Amendment infringements. Steinle Jury: It Was the Gun’s Fault

I’ve gotten used to the media and the anti-gun crowd blaming the firearm every time there is a high-profile shooting event. After all, they already have an agenda to vilify guns—regardless the facts in my opinion. However, I about fell out of my chair when the jury in San Francisco found Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, a.k.a. Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, not guilty on the counts of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kate Steinle but guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Allow me to explain. [Read more…] about Steinle Jury: It Was the Gun’s Fault
