How Anti Gunners Manipulate Data to Advance Their Cause

Numbers are a powerful tool when used properly. Like all powerful tools, they can be used for good or to deceive. On one hand, the Violence Policy Center’s chart is not factually untrue. On the other, of course, the snapshot is purposefully timed to mislead the reader. Are both sides guilty or have the anti gunners run amok? Despite Media Meme, SHOT Show Rolling Along in Las Vegas

By the afternoon of Day 3 of the 2018 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas, one thing above all others is clear. Media attempts to frame this year’s 40th anniversary event as the gun industry gathering near the scene of the Las Vegas mass shooting have failed. New Handguns for 2018

In an age when everything plastic rules, a handgun made of steel with a design more than 100 years old still drives the market. We are talking, of course, of the fabled 1911, and a third of the new guns that follow are based on this legendary platform. That’s not to say that there is no interest in itty-bitty pocket pistols, and it’s clear the revolver is not the antiquated firearm many assume. In fact, when it comes to new handguns for 2018, there is a good mix of old, new, plastic, and steel, with a wheelgun or two thrown in for good measure.

Armenian Sniper Makes 2,145 Meter Shot on Azeri Border

An Armenian social media personality who closely follows the Armenian Military side of the extremely contested eastern border with Azerbaijan recently posted a narrated video on his Facebook page of what appears to be a filmed engagement of Azeri troops in the disputed border region. Both countries have had a long history of cross-border military action between the two, but our focus here is on the Armenian sniper and his precision shooting that transpired. A Closer Look At The Molot Sanctions

While walking around SHOT Show this year, I couldn’t help but see the ads running for the Last of Molot and directing me to Booth 11217. With the prospect of the promise of free patch and a chance to check out the last of the VEPR’s, I couldn’t resist. As many of you know, this year the federal government put the final nail in the coffin for anyone wanted access to quality Russian firearms. The question is, “Why and how did we get here?” [Read more…] about A Closer Look At The Molot Sanctions

Bump Fire — Vote “No” on New Gun Control

The Department of Justice (DOJ) anticipates issuing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would interpret the statutory definition of “machine gun” in the National Firearms Act of 1934 and Gun Control Act of 1968 to clarify whether certain devices, commonly known as bump fire stocks, fall within that definition. Before doing so, the DOJ and ATF need to gather information and comments from the public and industry regarding the nature and scope of the market for these devices. Medical Marijuana: ‘We Won’t Take Guns Away’

Marijuana, whether for medical or recreational purposes, is being legalized in many states across the country. Recreational uses have less protections, but the question of whether Medical Marijuana users should be allowed to own or possess firearms is at the forefront. According to the Federal government, it is illegal regardless of whether certain state laws, such as those in Pennsylvania may have legalized it.  [Read more…] about Medical Marijuana: ‘We Won’t Take Guns Away’

Gun Control on the Loose — CA, OR, KS

With all the insane new Gun Control laws beginning to clog up the agendas of State Capitols, it was only a matter of time before another State followed suit. Kansas Democrats have filed two gun control bills for the upcoming legislative session. Rep. Vic Miller, a Topeka Democrat, wants to ban bump stocks — rifle add-ons that make a semi-automatic weapon work much like a fully automatic gun. Sneak Peek: New Firearms for 2018

The past two years have have yielded little in the way of innovation. Of course there were exceptions that caught shooters’ eyes and found a well deserved spot as home defenders or the top shelf of the safe. The Arex Rex Zero One and Walther Creed immediately come to mind. However, that is the past and we are concerned with 2018, so here are a few models worthy of a closer look. Springfield Goes Small With a New 1911

The 1911 is a proven platform and top performer in any caliber or size. Springfield’s 911 pistol would make a great carry gun, and excels as back-up gun (BUG). The 911 has all the features and familiarity of the 1911 with a few upgrades and a smaller size.

It’s like Springfield states in its introduction, “When the police are minutes away, but the threat is only seconds out.. 9-1-1. When you have to be your own first responder.”

Pelosi Lies About National Reciprocity

As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Of course, such a record would be an improvement for the Washington Post’s gun coverage. However, over the past year, the Post’s Fact Checker column has provided readers with a handful of well-researched pieces challenging the ridiculous assertions made by some gun control advocates. This week brought their latest, where writer Glenn Kessler admonished House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for her recent comments on H.R. 38, or the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017. 6 of the Dumbest Arguments by Anti-gun Dissenters

The Supreme Court of the State of Delaware upheld the right to keep and bear arms provision of the Delaware State Constitution in early December 2017. The provision was originally enacted in 1987 after passing through two separately elected legislatures. This is good news and certainly in line with Constitution. However, it is the ludicrous claims made in the dissention that is the most egregious part. [Read more…] about 6 of the Dumbest Arguments by Anti-gun Dissenters
