Slide Fire Throws in the Towel and Ceases Operations

As a result of recent regulation, we have lost yet another firearms related business—not to the forces of the market or competition and not due a slowing number of sales or profits. Instead, Slide Fire is closing its doors due the whims of the feel-good politics of politicians and the efforts of gun control advocates. Gun Control: If you control the banks (money), who needs the legal system?

Second Amendment groups, including the National Rifle Association (NRA), Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR), and hundreds of grassroots organizations, have preserved our right to self-defense and the Second Amendment. This has been done by making our voice heard to lawmakers at all levels of government. We have won some battles and lost others, but for the most part, our continuing efforts to keep lawmakers honest (regarding firearms legislation) have been successful. However, we now face a new threat that could easily derail the Second Amendment without a lawmaker filing a single vote. Retired Supreme Court Justice Calls for Second Amendment Repeal

In the November 2016 election, gun-owning Americans turned out to tell the nation that their rights mattered. The election that prevented Hillary Clinton from entering the Oval Office also stopped her from packing the Supreme Court with justices who are hostile to the Second Amendment. Olmos Park, Texas Gun Rights March

Over 540 gun rights thought-leaders converged on the community of Olmos Park, Texas to address grievances against Chief Rene Valenciano and some of his operational command, who have abused Texas citizens—according to the protesters and others who have seen documented video footage of the violations, deviating from good policing practices on the streets of Olmos Park, online, and on social media. A Lesson for Americans, Canada Teen Fights Gun Control

March NICS Checks Spiked, SAF Credits ‘Gun Control Hysteria’

A spike in the number of initiated background checks in March, via the FBI’s National Instant Check System (NICS), reflects a significant increase in the number of people apparently interested in buying guns, and a major gun rights organization is crediting the wave of gun control hysteria following the shooting tragedy at a Florida high school. Missouri Legislature Takes the Second Amendment a Step in the Right Direction

While other states (most recently, Oregon and New Jersey) are posturing against gun rights, yesterday (March 28, 2018) the Missouri House Rules Committee passed House Bill 1936 which expands the protections of the Second Amendment to locations and areas where you can carry concealed in its state.

New Jersey — The First State to Act Since the Teen Gun Control March

The first day back on the job since teens lead a march on Washington DC and New Jersey lawmakers have already voted for stricter gun laws. Advice from a Russian: Never Give Up Your Guns

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt, and culturally degenerating U.S.A., but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one’s self and possessions. This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, the Russians were one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. NSSF: YouTube’s New Policy Causes for Concern

YouTube’s announcement this week of a new firearms content policy is troubling. We [National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)] suspect it will be interpreted to block much more content than the stated goal of firearms and certain accessory sales. Especially worrisome is the potential for blocking educational content that serves an instructional and skill-building purpose. YouTube’s policy announcement has also served to invite political activists to flood their review staff with complaints about any video to which they may proffer manufactured outrage. The Truth Behind Why Your Rights are Under Attack

Currently, the Second Amendment in general, and specifically the rights of millions of young Americans, are under assault. Why? Presumably, because of the actions of the single 19-year-old who committed mass murder in Parkland, Florida. While the shooter was an adult at the time and responsible for his actions, the government is more than a little culpable in setting the stage to allow this tragedy to happen. More Sanctions On Russia

The Trump administration announced new sanctions on Russia. These new sanctions appear to be the most stringent punishment yet by Trump for Russia’s election interference. In announcing the sanctions, the administration disclosed a Russian attempt to penetrate the U.S. energy grid and that the new sanctions would punish actors for their participation in other major cyberattacks. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio Pulls All Police From Public Schools

Right now, today, every day, the Second Amendment is under continual attack. State and federal legislatures are considering a host of misguided and ill-intentioned bills that will have no direct effect on preventing a tragedy similar to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Yet, it was that tragedy that lit the fuse on the latest round of anti-gun bills set to strip citizens of their right to bear arms. Now, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has taken anti-gun absurdity to a whole new level that endangers the safety of New York’s public school children.
